Caringbah Learning Centre will begin a 10 week, 2 hour Selective High Schools’ Program in Term 4, 2017. The program will address the four areas to be tested, i.e., English, Maths, General Ability and Written Expression. In addition, exam techniques and strategies will be provided as well as practice test questions.
The program will be run for 5 weeks in Term 4 and resume again in February, 2018 for 5 weeks leading up to the exam in March, 2018. Follow up work will be provided over the Christmas Holidays.
A separate Written Expression SHS program will be held from 15th January to 19th January, 2018. It will run from 10a.m. to noon or 1p.m. to 3p.m. Monday to Friday. The purpose of this program is to focus exclusively on the written expression exam and develop planning, vocabulary, sentence and paragraph structuring skills and answering the question being asked.
If the 10 week program is not suitable, CLC offers another option of two nights per week for 5 weeks in Term 1, 2018.
Due to an overwhelming response to our regular SHS programs, CLC may open a further option on Saturdays from 10am to 12 noon beginning from 10th February to 10th March, 2018.

Caringbah Learning Centre is offering three workshops for Year 3 students to prepare them for the upcoming NAPLAN examination in May, 2018.
Workshop 1 Tuesday, 17th April, 2018 from 10am to 12 noon will cover Language Conventions and Written Expression.
Workshop 2 Wednesday, 18th April, 2018 from 10a.m. to 12 noon will cover Reading and Comprehension.
Workshop 3 Thursday, 20th April, 2017 from 10a.m. to 12 noon will cover Numeracy – number sense, number patterns and algebra, operational work, interpreting questions, word problems, space, measurement and chance and data.
Students will be given strategies and practical examples to become familiar with the necessary exam techniques and types of questions given in NAPLAN exams..

Caringbah Learning Centre is offering seven (7) weekly workshops to prepare students for the Opportunity Class Placement test being held on Wednesday, 1st August, 2018. Each workshop will be from 5.30p.m. to 7.30p.m. beginning Friday, 1st June, 2018 to Friday, 27th July, 2018 (excluding school holidays – 13th and 20th July, 2018).
Students will be provided with reference material, sample questions, strategies and techniques to assist in the areas of English, Maths and General Ability. Errors will be explained in each session so that further development of skills can occur. Workshops are limited to approximately eight to nine students.
Confidence is enhanced when exam techniques are familiar!
